Juan Carlos Bragado

Associate, Architectural Designer

Born and raised in Spain, he graduated from the Technical University of Madrid, UPM. In 2020, he joined the MQ Architecture team. Since then, he has been leading the design of projects such as Stella's Cucina, 1123 Walnut Street, Juniper Workshop, 584 Dean Street, Saint Peter's Church, 109 Jackie Robinson Parkway, and KAGAMI: Ryuichi Sakamoto, among others.

As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, he explores the intersectionality of gay and gender studies within architecture and construction, seeking to understand and address the diverse perspectives and challenges that arise.

He also served as a teaching assistant in the Architectural Design Department (DPA) at ETSAM during 2017-2018. Additionally, he has been invited to several critiques at the Hillier College of Architecture and Design at NJIT.

His final thesis project ‘Decumanus’ has been distinct by ArchDaily / Plataforma Arquitectura as one of the Best Final Diploma Projects in Spain in 2019 and awarded with an urbanism Mention at COAM 19 Awards (Official Architecture Association of Madrid).

His past experience includes working as a collaborator at the renowned office Renzo Piano Building Workshop in Genoa, as well as at estudioHerreros and Jesús Aparicio in Madrid.
