The Spanish architect, based in New York, received the award at a ceremony held at the Teatro OlĂmpico in Vicenza (Italy).

New York. - Spanish architect Miguel Quismondo has been awarded the DEDALO MINOSSE Architecture Award for the construction of the Magazzino Italian Art Museum in Cold Spring (New York), a project that made him the first Spaniard to design a museum space in New York.

The award, given for the architectural quality of the work, in the SPECIAL VENETO REGION PRIZE category, is shared with the founders of the Magazzino Italian Art Foundation, Nancy Olnick and Giorgio Spanu, who commissioned the architectural project.

The DEDALO MINOSSE Award is the only award that also recognizes the work of the client, confirming that behind a good architectural work there is always a good client.

For the selection, the jury, composed among others by the founder of ArchDaily, David Basulto; the Italian artist Michelangelo Pistoletto; or the architect from the Mecanoo studio, Francine Houben; focused on evaluating environmental, social, and economic sustainability, integration between art and architecture, the use of innovative technologies and materials, and multidisciplinary value.
