Creative Art Solutions - From Concept to Installation

“Architects act as strategists, constantly challenging established  norms and genuinely reshaping them.” Miguel Quismondo, Founder

MQ Architecture is a New York offIce founded by Miguel Quismondo in 2012. He began his professional career in 1999, working for Perkins+Will, and later collaborated with award-winning architect Alberto Campo Baeza in the design and construction of the Olnick Spanu House. His firm provided him an outlet to work on small design jobs outside of his Construction Management career and the opportunity to collaborate with many international artists, implementing and installing site-specifc projects in Garrison, NY.

When the opportunity to design, develop, and build Magazzino Italian Art arrived, MQ unveiled the chance to propose an architecture that followed the traditional values of the Polytechnic School of Architecture of Madrid, from where Miguel graduated. Magazzino gave MQ the opportunity to collaborate in many exhibitions, contributing with technical assistance, design, procurement, and project management.

Due to these past collaborations with artists and institutions, MQ Architecture has managed to build a portfolio that exhibits commitment and professionalism within the cultural sector. We have the knowledge, experience, and sensitivity to assist artists and galleries in developing any art projects or exhibition design.

The knowledge and understanding of construction, materials, means and methods available in each scenario heavily infuence our frm. We coined the term “Architectural Builder” as a metaphor of our full involvement on a project from inception to project delivery. In this approach, the designer is also the construction manager who choreographs all trades and suppliers on a job site until completion. We believe this allows us better control over our design and allows us to impact how our clients live and enjoy these spaces.
