Mingotable

The design of this table came as a specific need while working on a small penthouse renovation in Manhattan. Given the limited space of the residence, the client requested a table that could be used equally indoors and outdoors, therefore, our design needed to be weather resistant and easy to transport. The idea was to use an aluminum frame, that could be easily transported by a single person, and a removable top. As we thought the table would stay outdoors longer than inside, we looked for a heavy material that would give the table stability and resistance to uplift. Therefore, we split the top in three equal units that would make for an easy transportation. We chose a solid surface material with a low percentage of high resistance resins, warm to the touch, stable not to yellow under the direct sunlight, and highly resistant to inclement weather.

The frame was produced upstate by Garrison Forge, and the “Kiron top was manufactured in New Jersey.

The name Mingotable refers to the idea of “Mingling” and celebrates the arrival of Jacobo Mingorance to the firm.
